Since the beginning of the Low Carbon Buildings Program Phase II funding stream, we have been very busy and have completed some of the first installations of their type in the UK using Phase II funding.

PLUG INTO THE SUN were runners up for a prestigious Award from the Renewable Energy Association. The local company was highly commended for making Cornwall a leading light in SOLAR POWER and came a close second in the Best British Renewable Energy Region Award.
PLUG INTO THE SUN were short-listed down to five organisations from over 120 applications and invited to the Savoy Hotel in London to receive their Award. The Awards were presented by BBC reporter Sarah Mukherjee, whilst live entertainment was provided by Rory Bremner.
PLUG INTO THE SUN have been busy providing interactive presentations to raise awareness about renewable energy. These have included a talk to over 100 representatives of the Tourism industry at an event organised by COAST. Also over 100 Architects and Developers at the Eden project and in Carrick District Council have received PowerPoint presentations on Integrating SOLAR energy into new developments.
We’ve also recently attended the Royal Cornwall Show and had an exhibition with the Cornwall Sustainable Energy Partnership.
All of the events are always very well received and been excellent opportunities to raise awareness and dispel some of the myths about solar energy. If you have an event that requires a high quality speaker or display please let us know.
The Government have outlined their latest plans for energy policy. The Government is “considering Nuclear Energy due to it’s low carbon emissions and fuel security”. PLUG INTO THE SUN strongly oppose this approach due to the enormous costs of nuclear energy and the legacy of the Nuclear waste. The Government are “consulting the public” to find our your views. Please respond to the government highlighting your opposition to this potential policy!

PLUG INTO THE SUN are currently seeking motivated and skilled personnel to assist with our expanding team of installers.
We are looking for People with hands-on practical skills to assist in our installers network. Work is on a sub-contract basis. Full training on the solar aspect and Health and Safety will be provided. For more details contact us.
