Location
West Penwith, Cornwall
Objective
Previously the house used a noisy and expensive generator. The objective was to supply all the building's electricity needs from solar power.
Funding
The installation has been 50% funded by the Energy Saving Trust and 50% funded by the home owner.
Installation
The energy generated by the PV panels is stored in a large bank of Rolls batteries. The batteries store enough energy for up to 4 days autonomous supply, but they're constantly being recharged by the solar array so they'll never run out of power.
